It's been so absolutely chilly here in Chicago that I've had to bust out the thicker material like cable knit sweaters. One of my favorite combinations is cable knit and leopard print. Does anyone else feel like leopard print is a neutral? Raise your hand! When the temperatures get cooler and the clothing seems to get darker; I reach to leopard print to really jazz up a look. This outfit is still considered on the darker side, but the pattern of the leopard print pops and creates something a little different.
You honestly can't go wrong with cable knit. I have so many cable knit sweaters in my closet that it's crazy. It's the perfect layering piece and will keep you warm when it gets colder, and believe me it gets plenty cold in Chicago. While we are on the cooler side of fall, but not quite winter, a cable knit sweater is perfect by itself. A little leopard print scarf adds some detail, but the simplicity of a cream cable knit sweater is the perfect base layer for a chic look. I added my favorite burgundy jeans from Gap to add a little bit of color to the look. Cream and burgundy go perfectly together.

I've already mentioned it before, but leopard print is a great neutral way to to add some pattern and flair to a simple look. I, personally, am not the kind of person who likes a lot of leopard print on something like a jacket or a full dress. Instead, I absolutely love leopard print accessories like circle scarves, loafers, heels, or a cute bag.

To finish my cable knit and leopard print look, I added my absolute favorite brown riding boots. If you don't have a classic, well-made pair of riding boots. They are simply a fall wardrobe essential that go with almost any outfit. Here I paired them with simple staples like a cable knit sweater and colored skinny jeans, but a great pair of riding boots can be rocked with a dress or skirt too!
